About Me
My name is Jared Miller, and I’ve been in IT since about 2007 when I first headed to school for it. Prior to that I was frequently tinkering with my network at home, and the various PC’s we had laying around. In school, after the first semester or so I took quite an interest in networking. As a result I tried to soak up anything about networking I could during my time in school, and throughout my co-op semesters at what turned out to be the job I would go to (and am currently still at) after school. In March of 2010 I took and passed the Cisco CCNA certification exam, and then graduated from college shortly after that.
During my co-op semesters I had the opportunity to work with many different technologies outside of the standard routing-and-switching-type networking world I was used to in school, such as VMware, Storage Networks, Wireless, Active Directory, Juniper SA appliances, and the list goes on.
Since completing school, and my CCNA I have turned my focus towards the CCIP certification track, and hope to complete the MPLS/BGP composite by the end of the summer, 2011. With the ROUTE and QoS exams to follow.
When I’m not busy tinkering with network gear or the like I’m thinking about the next fancy addition I can put on my new Jeep Wrangler JK. It has become almost as much of an addiction as networking has for me, which also means it’s become equally as expensive…
